My husband & I arrived late, around dusk. We didn't have prior reservations for the campground, which was very busy for it being after the peak season. Luckily for us, the amazing camp host Chris helped us right away. We were able to get an amazing private walk-in site that we absolutely loved. Chris was so pleasant and helpful and made us feel welcome. He brought us our firewood right to our site & everything! For being as packed as it was, it was a nice quiet & peaceful camping experience. More campgrounds need hosts like Chris, he was great!

Stunning. Beautiful. The echo is awesome, my kids loved it! We were mostly alone in the river (third weekend in September). Only once did we have people near us. The river was clean and beautiful. Bathrooms were clean. Showers were hot & clean. The pavement is smooth around the RV/tents with electric--- my 9yo daughter FINALLY learned to ride a bike with the other kids we met on the open, safe driveway around the camp sites. We will be back!

In my opinion, this is one of the best state parks in Missouri. We camped with full hook-ups. The sites are on level concrete pads. The whole setting in Ozark Mountains and on the Ozark National Scenic Riverways is so beautiful and pristine. I would love to come back and stay at the gorgeous cabins or the Betty Lea Lodge. The wild horses are all everyone talks about! We ran into them running through the woods on one of the trails. It was so cool! Thank you Jay Nixon for this park,
great governor and great attorney general that actually did things for the people of Missouri.

Beds are way too low to ground. I've never been in a hotel or lodge with beds this low. Very odd. Older adults, anyone with bad knees or taller folks will struggle to get up as I did. With the price of a room per night, buy some real beds and some adult sitting chairs, please.Small chair in room. For tiny adults or children. Lodge is nice enough. Also, outside seating is mostly Adirondack chairs. Again, tough to get out of for those mentioned above. Probably won't return unless these upgrades are made. Food at restaurant was very disappointing. Had breakfast one day and lunch another. Very bland and priced high. Disappointing. Clean and nice looking place and grounds however.

We stayed in our 5th Wheel RV at Timbuktu and went to the lodge for dinner. I loved it because we were there on Friday and they had a Fish Dinner Special, complete with fries and hush puppies. My wife and I both got it and there was so much we took some back to the camper and I had fish for two more meals. The lodge is a great place to eat.

I really enjoyed this state park. All of the facilities were very clean we hiked the blue and red trails and it was a nice hike although you don't really see the waterfalls or Bluffs as advertised. There is a lookout by the trailhead that you can see the Bluffs from. Then we ate at the grill it was good but a little overpriced. We swim in the spring it was very clear and calm. Enjoyed my day there!

I cannot say enough about this park. It is our favorite state park in all of the US! All facilities are new and impeccable. Stayed here to do star gazing and it did not disappoint. Stepped outside to see the milky way. Just incredible. The campground is incredible with private bathroom/showers. Wifi was even strong enough to stream. No phone, but can use internet phone through their wifi. Stayed the 3rd week in October and the trees were in peak. Just beautiful. Friendly staff and gorgeous setting. Can't ask for more!

The park was beautiful and well maintained. My husband and I stayed at the Betty Lea Lodge within the park. Wild horses roam the area, there is also canoeing, tubing and swimming to do at the Current River. Highly recommend!
