My daughter and I visited camp for 2 days with her school and I can tell you that our experience was PHENOMENAL! The staff is nothing short of incredible! Lindy went beyond above and beyond to help me keep my T1 diabetic daughter’s blood sugar from dropping. She literally saved us! Lou was kind and patient and SO encouraging to my daughter during archery and inspired my girl to take up the sport! The rest of the staff was helpful and attentive and seemed to truly enjoy their jobs. Our cabin was very comfortable and reminded me of a rustic themed hotel. The trails are beautiful and it’s a truly remarkable outdoor experience. If I could give 15 stars to the staff, I would.

Such an amazing place. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The facilities are also modern and cleanly. I have attended this camp for 12 years and worked on staff for two. The programs put on throughout the year are family friendly, and offer a variety of activities ranging from canoeing, archery, arts & crafts, along with many others.
Make sure to check out this hidden gem Granbury, TX has to offer.

Camp El Tesoro is a beautiful place to visit. Our kids loved being outdoors learning about the different animals and sights you can see out there. The staff are amazing and helpful. The cabins were comfortable and clean. We had a blast out there and will go back as many times as we can!

Went on a school field trip an I have to be honest...it was not worth the $135.. starting with the food...we was served chicken strips for lunch and steak strips for dinner.... the chicken strips were very over cooked and the steak strips was worst than the chicken strips....the mash potatoes was very dry...then breakfast the eggs was so cold I didn't eat them nor did the other adults at the table.... lunch we was served very dry and cold hamburger patties... tater tots was hard and cold... the food was just unacceptable...I think they wasted more food then serving that mess... so many kids was not eating their food cause it was nasty....some ate cause they was hungry....its just sad that the amount of money it cost the food should've been a lot better.... as far as the activities...they were ok... most of the workers that was in charge of the activities was not really involved with their position... they just didn't seem like they wanted to be there... an last but not lease...the beds need a better mattress...feels like you sleeping on wrestling mat... couldn't sleep at all cause the hardness of the bed....will never return there again

It's been a while since I was at this camp, but it left it's impression on me. I visited this camp as part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Becoming an Outdoor Woman's program. Some of the best photos I took ... ever ... where at this camp. The staff were fantastic and the food was pretty good. The area was great for hiking, star gazing, kayaking, and of course photography. I had a blast at this camp. The cabins were clean and well kept.

The staff was incredibly rude to the kids. They all had an attitude that seemed like no one wanted to be there. They constantly had very specific rules and were extremely particular about EVERYTHING. The staff did not help us navigate to each activity they just sat there waiting for us to find them. We brought good kids but it seemed like everything they did they got yelled at. One instant a group of kids were waiting for the next event to happen so they sat on the ground in a circle and they were playing in the sand and rocks. Lou the staff member yelled at the kids to stop. No one was hurting anything they were being creative and entertaining themselves with dirt and rocks. No one was throwing anything just being kids. I would understand if they were harming the environment or each other but they were literally playing in the sand. The kids were scared to have fun.

Any time we met outside the dining hall the kids were required to be absolutely silent for a long period of time before they were allowed into the dining hall. There was 90 5th graders this was a difficult task every time we were scheduled to eat. The director would just stand there yelling at them even though they were quiet. She required absolute silence. I have been to other camps where the staff was highly enthusiastic and interacted with kids in a positive manner. Not here. The staff seemed to be annoyed anytime kids interacted with them. There are better ways to get kids to stop talking, which is fun and effective rather than yelling at them to be quiet.

We Went on a hike where the staff member screamed at the kids any time they did anything. She also would say insults to the kids like "stop being a peabrain" she seemed very annoyed the entire time.

The staff that was in charge of the kayaks refused to help anyone get in or out of the water instead he just sat in a kayak.

The only kind staff members were those that served the food. The food was delicious and there was always senconds.

The beds also need to be upgraded there is a very very thin mat on plywood and thats it. It felt like sleeping on the floor.

They also refused to open the gift shop. Students brought money because in the past they have always had the gift shop. We were told that because we didnt reserve the shop they would not open it. This is the 1st time we were told that a reservation was required. They missed out on hundreds of dollars by refusing to open it. They also had a bunch of disappointed students but I dont think they care about that.

Also be prepared to be the janitor you are required to bus your table, wipe, and sweep anytime you eat. You are also required to sweep your cabin before you leave. I understand that this isnt a hotel but they charge as much as a night at Great wolf lodge.

I give the staff directors 0 stars. The comfort of beds 0 stars. The activities available 4 stars. The food staff 5 stars. Navigation around the grounds 0 stars. Customer service 0 stars. The average is 1.5 stars so I rounded up to 2 stars for my review. Go to a different camp. There are much better ones.

I am thankful we only stayed one night.
