I have zero interest in sending my child here again. We were really excited for this camp this past summer, but unfortunately our child didn't have a very good experience. The first thing I noticed at this camp is that there are A LOT of kids attending each week. It seems as though all the counselors were either teenagers or college students.... Basically, kids watching kids. The parking lot for drop off and pick-up is extremely small and tight, so be prepared.

My one star rating is based solely on the lack of urgency or desire for camp staff to address issues. As far as our experience went, there were a lot of problems within the small group that weren't addressed by the camp... the main concern being bullying. I reached out to the lead counselor in charge of the group to address my concerns, and was told that "there are several problem kids in the group. Because there are only two of them they can't see everything going on." I also reached out to the Executive Director, Courtney "Pearl" Kaiser through email to address my concerns on 6/21/24, and almost four months later I'm still waiting for a response.

If you decide to send your child here, I would recommend sending them with a friend, and place them in the same group. This will make their summer camp experience much more enjoyable.

My son loved Camp Thurman. This is his 3rd years going here. He enjoyed the camp activities and the fun stuffs that he get do there.

Kids Love this camp. Very efficiently run drop off and pickup. The counselors are always so friendly, polite and helpful. I especially love picking up my campers and hearing about their memory versus and their fun filled days.

Remember working here when I was 11. Can't forget the time they gave me a bowl of goldfish to lure a raccoon away from the campers . . . turns out the raccoon was rabid . . . hope they made it safer since then

This camp has been the best investment we have ever made in our sons life since he was 5. He wants to live there and he wants to be a counselor and he has made a lifetime of friends from going. They take care of your kids like their own and they will even feed them if your 15 yr old forgets his lunch‍♀️ Thank you Camp Thurman and all of your counselors that have poured into my child through every single season you can imagine!!❤️
