Very quiet, not too crowded, hosts were helpful and friendly, didn’t see any gators or bears. The bugs got really bad right after sundown, but fortunately we had a screened in awning. What are you gonna do? That’s camping in the Everglades. Overall had a great experience.

I just drove by as I was braving Route 41, but this is an excellent primitive campground.
Huge lake on the center, means fishing the entire day (and eating), plus wild forest all over, great for hunting.
They have bear proof food storage, bathroom (no water or electric).
Only thing that I didn't like so much is that all camp sites are in wild open areas, so you get the full power of Florida's sun on your tent.

Very quiet at night. Listen to the Owls. Bit of a bumpy road coming in. The lake is crystal clear. Ben here several times over the years. Will return.

I'm used to more primitive/wilderness camping, but was pleased by this campground. It's nice that the RVs are across the lake, you hardly notice them as a tent-camper. The tent sites are set up where vegetation borders a pair of sites, so you will have privacy on one side, but your neighbors will be in view on the other side. The whole loop is only about 0.5mi, perfect for a morning stroll. We had white-eyed vireos singing at our site in January! And we saw a small gator in the lake.
Mosquitoes were not great though, even in January... can't imagine it in the summer!

Site was nice but very close to the lake. We were one of the only ones there and it is quite terrifying. You hear splashing every 20 or 30 minutes or so that can only come from alligators and when we woke up there was an eight alligator 10 ft from our tent. He didn't back down and run away either just sat and watched us waiting for our dog to come close. It was a great experience I suppose but make sure you are prepared to be near alligators if you come here.

Tent camped here for two nights. First night was great. Very peaceful. Had an amazing spot. The second night was a little rough. A couple of younger kids decided to get very drunk and play loud electronic music and scream obscenities until about 3 am. Wish quiet times were enforced. Otherwise, this is a great spot.

Incroyable!

You can not burn at burns lake. Only 4 maybe 5 spots to camp with shade. Must bring cash to pay for your spot and leave it in an envelope at the entrance. There are bears in the area and food must be kept in your vehicle or in the steel boxes provided ( which are not at each camping site.) There are also wild hog's running around as we found a fresh trail of tracks just hours after going through the same spot to collect wood. We left just before dawn and witnessed a 5-6ft gator near our neighbors there in the next plot over who were sleeping in a tent on the ground. As we hit the lights on the vehicle to leave the gator turned and ran back towards the water. So getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom can be dangerous if you're not careful. Bears, gators, hogs, and panthers roam the area so be prepared. Oh and also, there were only 2 other campers on the whole property which was nice, very quite.
