We just spent a night here and really enjoyed it. Very modern bathroom but with a vintage look. Hardwood floors and at least 12 ft tin ceiling. Comfy bed and a gorgeous view of the courthouse at night lit up looking like a wedding cake. No check in-they just text you a code for the doors. We loved it!

My husband picked this location to end his 200 mile bicycle ride and by far this will be a place I would recommend to all my friends. The hotel is vintage, the beds are awesome, and the bathroom is very clean! Love love love!

Good location, but beware!

Over the weekend we stayed at the Burnham property that is also owned by Dofflemyer Hotel. The room was fine and the location in downtown San Saba is excellent . That being said I have significant complaints and concerns about service at the hotel. We arrived in the evening around 6 pm, there is no front desk and no one on site to answer questions. We called two different phone numbers that we found posted around the hotel and got no answer for over an hour. The local police and a local pastor helped us track down someone that got us into our room over an 1 hour 15 minutes after arriving.

We were told that we should have received a text with the information for check in, but no text was received prior to arriving. We were also told that the phone used for assisting guests was dead and we would get the text when it was recharged (how does that happen?).

The stay was fine and very quiet, but make note that there are no in-room refrigerators and no working ice machines on the property. I called on the following Monday to follow up, but there was little concern for my concerns. And I was told that the phone system was down over the weekend and the hotel was at the mercy of phone company.

Future guests be warned...if you don't get a text with the check-in information the day before you arrive, I recommend you start calling immediately until you talk to someone in person. Also be prepared to be completely independent during your stay. You may not get any help from the staff.

We found this hotel while seeking somewhere to stay, on our way from Houston. No offense but the other hotels in the area don’t compare. The room was immaculate, the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in, and the restroom was really nice. The only complaint I have is no elevator since I’m pregnant and had to carry my luggage but I’d still stay here again! Thank you for the stay!

5 stars all the way! Yes it’s a little noisy but ear plugs are provided. Also I never noticed an elevator so know you’ll have to carry your luggage up some stairs. This doesn’t deter me though from giving it all 5 stars. The decor of this place is top notch. The beds and bedding were super comfy. I’d love to know where they buy their sheets. Their towels as well. So absorbent yet soft. Breakfast is not provided but there’s a coffeepot in the hallway and it’s good coffee! There is a nice cafe downstairs and the prices are very reasonable. This hotel has self check in which was very convenient. I did meet the housekeeping staff while getting coffee and they were super friendly. They come in every day and tidy up your room and provide more towels if needed. Not many hotels do this anymore. Love, love, love this place and so glad my daughter found it for our yearly mother/ daughter trip.

The website is extremely confusing!! We planned to book at the Dofflemyer Hotel. Went to the Dofflemyer website and booked a room. Upon check in I received a text on how to access three different rooms! Finally called and they said we booked at a lodge down the street. Went to the room, it was clean but no windows, it’s like being in a closet, no access to ice or a mini fridge but there is a microwave in the hall. There is a coffee pot out in the hallway that you share with another room. The toilet doesn’t flush well and big surprise, they won’t return your calls and you can’t find staff anywhere!! Buyer beware of the Dofflemyer and verify you’re not stuck in a closet!! This could have all been avoided if their website had been completely open about the location of this room. This building is under construction, no sprinkler system in room. You book on the Dofflemyer website and get Burnham’s lodge. Pictures are of the building and entrance to the room, which was not on the website.

IF THERE WAS A FIRE IN THE HALL, there is NO alternative exit in room #8.

This is a top notch establishment, hands down, the best in town. The ladies doing the booking are professional and patient with last minute changes and bookings. The rooms are great and the people are even better. We have had crews in and out of town and they have always accomadated our needs. If you have business in the area or are staying in the area for fun, this IS the place to stay.

I won't go back. I asked to have a 1 hour extension for checkout. They wanted to charge me $25! Ridiculous! I said never mind.
The bed was super soft when I sat, and then laid down. After 15 minutes I noticed the mattress was sinking in the middle, like a big rut or sinkhole. It felt at times in the night I was in a hole and couldn't climb out. Everything seemed nice.
An elevator would have been nice. The hot water in the shower and sinks were slow to warm. I was in Room 4, regarding the mattress failure. Other rooms were probably fine.
