So my family and I had two rooms from 8/1/2024 to 8/7/2024, one room was a regular king room, and the other was a handicapped accessible room.
Check in: When we went to check in, we were disappointed to find out that we didn't have 2 handicap rooms even though that's what we had asked for. My Mom is disabled and I had just had back surgery June 24th, 2024 and they couldn't accommodate two accessible rooms because they were pretty much completely booked. Also, we had to pay to park, and if you don't sign up for their rewards, you don't get free wifi. My Dad and I were very upset at all these random charges that we knew nothing about because we booked through a travel group. The people at the front desk, though apologetic and nice, couldn't help us by getting another shower chair for the regular room because they didn't have any spare. My Dad and I were trying to decide if it was worth staying in this hotel during the entire trip, but we were tired after a long travel day, and decided to stay the night. Again though, the people at the front desk were very nice, infact, everyone who worked there were very nice and helped if they could.
The rooms: my parents were kind enough to let me take the handicap room. And it was the first stop, so we dropped off my stuff and I did a quick glance, not too shabby. There was a kitchen, and a nice big room, but the shower chair didn't really fit too well in the shower. Honestly I think hotels should just put bars and adjustable shower heads in in each bathroom because those were so helpful for me. My parents room had a couch that didn't fave the TV, but the bed did and let me tell you, their bed was so much more comfortable! I don't know if it's because the bed in my room was firmer because of the people who were handicapped or if they just needed a new bed but my goodness, the bed seemed so much softer in their room. There were a lot of gnats flying around in both rooms, it seemed like more in my parents room then mine, and the Flys that were outside, flew inside as soon as they could, it was like a game for them it seemed lol. We stayed the night, and decided since it was already paid for that we would just stay the rest of the trip. It was honestly my first time in a hotel with a full kitchen. For noise, I was on the bottom floor, same with my parents, and each room above us seemed to be holding some kind of sport. I swear the little kids above me were racing across the room, and playing jump rope. I couldn't hear the neighbors next door at all, but people going up and down the stairs and the room above me was terrible. It wouldn't stop until about 11:30 or Midnight. Other then that, yeah there were some scuff marks or a little wear and tear, but the rooms were good.
Complimentary Breakfast: it was good, there was a lot of hot food, and also muffins and cereal. Definitely worth it.
All in all, this was a great place to stay. The only issue is how expensive everything was. California has gotten. So expensive, so when we went out to dinner or even just get lunch (I did have to get my fix for Jamba Juice while I was there...and they were $10.50! The last time I bought a jamba juice I think it was $8 something. We ended up going out to dinner 3 or 4 times and also went to lunch 2 or 3 times. I tried to figure out if it was more expensive staying at a cheaper hotel but going to get food every day, at least two times a day(if the cheaper hotel had complementary breakfast or if there was a fridge and microwave in said cheaper hotel) or staying at this place, going to the grocery store and having food every day if wanted. I suppose it depends on pricing of hotel, because absolutely going out to eat will remain expensive...as it's California lol. Who knows...but I would stay here again I think since we have the reward program thing already...and I'm not sure how much it was to pay yo park, but it's per vehicle, per night. I'd definitely want the same bed my parents had, but the bathroom for those with disabilities.
Also, when they cut the plants back, they smelled like Marijuana lol.
