Super friendly front desk staff, always nice to have the two bedroom suite with kiddos and only about a 15 minute drive to Temecula's wineries. Pretty central with plenty of options for food and wasn't crowded when we went, the pool was especially empty both days we took the kids down. The curtains in the rooms all had minor holes in them but besides that the rooms were nice!

We stayed here 4 years ago. It was much better at that time. Rooms have not been maintained. Complimentary breakfast is a joke - an apple, a banana, packaged muffin and coffee. Not even milk or yogurt

When available we usually stay at a Residence Inn when we are travelling (with the exception when we travel out of the country and then we stay at a St. Regis Hotel if available). We visited family on this stay for 3 nights/4days and once again elected a Residence Inn. This property is EXTREMELY disappointing. It is franchised owned and the owners are NOT maintaining the property to Marriott standards. The blackout drapes in the suite we occupied had holes the size of quarters throughout the drapes; the exterior paint was peeling away from the building and in desperate need for a full re-paint; the owners shut down the hot breakfast when Covid hit in 2020 and refuse to offer their guests a hot breakfast but rather have opted to offer a tiny bar area by the reception counter with what they call a 'grab-n-go' which is nothing more than a gross, prepackaged sticky muffin (something you get from a gas station store), coffee (not even orange, apple, or cranberry juice), a banana or orange and a cup of pre-packaged oatmeal (all of which had nuts and one of us is allergic to nuts). THAT'S the "breakfast" served by the franchise owners of this Residence Inn Temecula/Murrieta by Marriott. This was at a rediculous price of $270/night. When we inquired over no hot breakfast, we were told if we wanted a hot breakfast, there were nearby restaurants open for breakfast or we would need to go across the parking lot to a Courtyard and eat there (as if we wanted to leave the supposed comforts of the property we were paying for to trapse across a parking lot to another Marriott property) !!! And, a disgusting issue, they have a 'dog walk' area with astroturf near the front entrance that reeked of dog urine, clearly never being washed off daily (or at all).||Will we ever stay at this property again - NO - not unless Marriott makes the franchise owners step up to Marriott standards and take care of the guests properly, but since that hasn't been required of the franchise owners in 4 years, doubtful it will even happen. When we asked the front reception about the sub-standard amenities (including the curtains with holes in them), we were told that the property is due for it's 7-year upgrade but that Marriott was passing it by. And THAT should affect the guests, why ?

Hotel is a bit dirty and in need of a remodel. Hallways are smelly, wallpaper is peeling and the pull out couches are broken. I would stay here again if I had to but I would certainly not seek out staying here again. Additionally the normal breakfast for a Residence Inn is not there. Just packages sugar muffins and bananas. The hotel staff was nice and responsive but overall the hotel is headed in the wrong direction. Raise the bar don’t lower it.

Absolutely terrible service. Unfriendly staff. The website shows a breakfast buffet, they offer packaged muffins, apples, banana's, packaged oatmeal, and coffee and tea. It's dog friendly, but something they use to disinfect the carpet made my dog sick.

Positive: The ambiance of the hotel and room was very nice, very clean and modern Negative: One thing I did not appreciate was the hotel was advertised as having a hot breakfast, which was not the case. A major disappointment for me. Otherwise, a very nice hotel.

Marriott app invited me to check in on the morning of our arrival and offered check-in times as early as noon, which I selected. Upon arrival (was not greeted as a Platinum Elite member), was told that this location "doesn't do" mobile check in and a room would not be available until 4pm. I was counting on leaving baggage in the room as the 90+ degree heat in the car would damage my makeup. Fortunately, they allowed me to check my luggage.
I had requested a room with a bathtub when making the reservation, as I always do, but I guess I need to request such again upon arrival as my first room had only a shower. Transferring rooms is always such a pain.
As a Platinum Elite member, I also should have been offered a later checkout, but that was not honored, either. Again, fortunately, they let me check my bags as well as refrigerate my leftovers until I returned to retrieve them later.
Lastly, signage differentiating the Residence Inn Marriott from the Courtyard Marriott next door should be more prominent and/or a covered unloading area to indicate where the front door for the Residence Inn is located would be welcome.

This could have been a good stay but the following had occurred during our stay that made this a one star hotel. I've tried to talk to Marlene who is the General Manager of this inn but she was unemphatetic of the situation.

July 25- the day that we moved inn, tv was not working. We had to call maintenance to fix it but it took them the following day to fix the problem.

July 29- The fridge would not shut off. The rubber of the fridge was dislodged I had to ask maintenance to fix it.

July 30- I noticed that there were ants crawling, bottom drawer of the cabinet was broken, and started noticing that the sink had dry sands. I immediately informed them. A housekeeper lady came by and went to check, she told me that maintenance guy will not be in until tomorrow (7/31). She cleaned the sink with a white towel. She offered to clean the bathroom. I told her that since the housekeeper and maintenance personnel will come tomorrow, to do everything tomorrow instead because I don't want to be bothered anymore. I just wanted to rest.

July 31- our nightmare began. My husband and I were asleep, smelled sewage and heard water dripping down the bathroom floor. I found the sink with brown water and it smells so bad. I immediately called the front and the same lady came. She tried to remove the water using the the trash can. Sewage water was spilling on top of my skincare $200, my husband's razor $50, our weighing scale ($35), toothbrush $20. Slippers $30. The fact that we had to miss work because we had to transfer our belongings from one room to another and It took 6 hours for us to transfer our things from our original room 125 to our new room in the 2nd floor.

I spoke with the General Manager over the phone and vocalized our concerns, all what was offered was one night stay off from our stay here X 3 weeks which is $125.00 only. The General Manager is trying to blame me that I did not let the housekeeper come in to clean the bathroom yesterday. What will the housekeeper do yesterday' just clean? What the about the ants, the broken things and the problem with the sewage. They did not even offer to change rooms at that time. I had to demand for our room to be change because it stinks in the room and you can smell the sewage.

I'm suppose to have a quiet, and restful stay not to be bothered with all these inconveniences. All we got for the past few days was more inconvenience, stress, and feeling that the General Manager doesn't care at all. I have been patient and emphatetic with the staff, but I didn't get the same treatment from the General Manager. Im spending almost $3,000 staying at this place. My husband and I are both stressed from our moved and expecting a restful and peaceful stay during our time here but instead, we were bombarded with problems. In addition, if I didn't demand a room, Marlene expected us to endure the stench from the sewage and have us stay in the same room until the end of our stay. Very unsanitary. I like to see her stay in the room with all these problems. Not to mention, the other room was also affected.

The General Manager's name is Marlene Altieri. I'm very disappointed and stressed, upset, frustrated and I only received the word sorry and one night compensation. No reimbursement of the damaged belongings.
