Former Chef of Tokyo's best Italian restaurant transformed this beautifully decorated monastery into an excellent place for holidays. Located on top of a hill you will get an amazing view over the Tuscan vineyards and the most beautiful nature Italy has to offer. The villa has all the comfort you need like spacious rooms, a Nice pool in the garden and Italian design in the smallest details. But the best Experience is the dedicated attention of Carmine and his staff: lovely people who do their best to give you the most remembering holiday ever. Plus an additional benefit: Carmine can make even the simplest pasta taste like heaven. And has always an appopriate wine available. We'll surely be back!

Villa Le Monache was where we based ourselves to tour Tuscany. Driving further away from civilisation we wondered what we had done. The place is remote. Having been there now however, I can tell you the experience is exactly what touring Tuscany is all about. It is brilliant. ||The villa is a family run business. It really is a great place to stay. Lai was our host for our stay. He and Claudia really looked after us well. Nothing was a problem. ||Villa Le Monache is also a cooking school. Never having done a cooking class of any sort before I can tell you it is something you should do in your travels. It was fantastic. A local chef Micheli, came in for the day. He is a local and actually now teacher in a US culinary school in Florence. Focaccia with Chicken liver pate, potato filled ravioli in a sausage sauce followed by meatloaf with roast potatoes, salsa verde and mayonnaise and finished off with a ricotta cake was the menu. The cooking and instruction was great fun but eating and sitting talking to other guests and Micheli for a couple of hours following the meal was just as entertaining. It made for a most enjoyable day and a long afternoon laying around snoozing it off!||What a fantastic stay we had. Lai, Claudia, Gemma and our cooking teacher Micheli made the stay just what we had in mind for our stay touring Tuscany. It is something I would definitely recommend. Touring we found so many villages and towns where time seems to have passed by. No tour bus, walking tours. Just local people. The food was also amazing. Locally produced meat, small goods, olives and vegetables. All fantastic. Thank you Villa Le Monache.

What began as a simple internet search for a base for a visit to the Uffizi and some Tuscan countryside became the high point of our holiday. Villa le Monache is remote enough to ensure total tranquility and yet has a train station only 15 minutes away with free parking and direct access to the centre of Florence. The house is simply but beautifully furnished, with breathtaking views and superb grounds. Carmine Cozzolino and his team (who include the world's friendliest collie) are wonderful hosts, friendly yet unobtrustive. And if Carmine is cooking when you happen to be there, you will get the best meal you could imagine in Tuscany. It's no surprise that he has played such a central role in the introduction of Italian cuisine to Japan, where he has spent most of his life. I suspect few visitors come to Villa la Monache once. Next time, we'll be back for longer.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The food was delicious. The cooking class was very extensive and we learned a lot as we were cooking a four course lunch with two professional chefs! Because of its modest size, six rooms, the villa feels very intimate and personal. Also great pool side chilling! Also Carmine and his wife went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home.

Absolute highlight of the holiday! We were warmly welcomed by Carmine and his wife. Carmine is an excellent chef, we've enjoyed the agriturismo/old monastery to the fullest. Thank you so much, we'll meet each other again!

Carmine, onze gastheer, is een Italiaanse chefkok die 40 jaar lang in Japan heeft gewerkt. En dat merk je aan de zorg die wordt besteed aan het eten en de kookworkshop. Heel veel geleerd en zeker de beste van de 3 kookworkshops die we hebben gedaan tijdens onze vakantie in Toscane / Umbrië.|Doordat er zes kamers zijn voel je je geen nummertje, maar krijg je persoonlijke aandacht.
