My son's car transmission went out and was referred to use A-F Wholesale Transmission from a nearby Firestone. We are not exactly local (45 minutes away) and were kind of short on options without a long tow. At first everything seemed fine except the car sat there for over a week without any work being completed. Once it finally was reviewed it was explained the cost covered the diagnosis and rebuilding of the transmission and that if any additional parts that connected to the transmission needed replaced that would be extra. Fair enough! The repair was completed and car picked up about 1 week later. There is limited hour availability to pick up car (I was given a window for a Saturday and rudely told don't show up right at the end of the window as I would be denied). Additionally their website states they accept credit card, including Discover, but I was told they only accept Visa and Mastercard with a 3% charge for using the card. Futher checks are not accepted so cash is the only other option. I understand the 3% charge, however don't advertise Discover if it is not accepted. We drove it home and over the next 2 weeks putting on a little of 250 miles. On the way driving the car back to my son who is away at college the car broke down again this time being the transmission cooler lines. I immediately called A-F Wholesale Transmission and was informed they were only paid to rebuild the transmission and not the cooler lines. I inquired why they weren't noted for repair as I understood additional cost would be required as it was outside the original transmission rebuild quote. No we are down again waiting on a tow and the owner rudely said bring it in and we can fix it. I declined to take it back for several reasons, but time will tell if the repair holds. I would exhaust all other options before using this business again. Seems slightly shady in retrospect...especially when the push people to use cash.

Wouldn't advise this shop, they charged me $300 and some dollars and didn't fix anything.

Buyer Beware!! Getting a transmission repaired is a huge expense especially when the repairs cost over $3000 and you're without a car for a week at best. I was told by the owner I would have my car back in a week, and I got my car back three weeks later and only to notice there was a sizeable dent in the left front fender where it was crashed while in their possession and you can clearly see the greasy fingerprints to where they tried to fix it unsuccessfully and made it worse. My car was tied up for three weeks because they couldn't figure out how to handle this and returned my car in this horrible condition. I talked to the owner and he told me to get an estimate and when I returned with the estimate for my Cadillac he didn't like the price and started denying responsibility. For a $3000 plus repair bill you would expect this shop to take better care of your car while its in their possession. and not drag it out just to deny it. Wholesale Transmissions in StonePark needs to do better or just get out of the business altogether!

Went on a trip to Chicago in my 2005 Ford Expedition and I thought the trip was going to go off without any problems. But unfortunately my cars transmission went out the day before the trip was supposed to end. Frantically, I called places that could help me within my budget to get my trans fixed so I could drive back home. That's when I contacted Ed at Wholesale Transmission and was able to get my vehicle in right away, at an affordable price and within a time range of when I needed it to be fixed by. I would definitely recommend Ed to anyone in that area who needs transmission help. He got me and my family back home safe, and I couldn't be more thankful. Thank you so much Ed! Your amazing!
